Okay, you know when you've got week-old tags you just can't manage to answer, you need a teensy break from a character. Add to that the fact that my RL is absolutely insane and, well... yeah. So my sincerest apologies to those I left hanging.

That being said, Deb's gonna leave the City for a bit. Effective this morning, she was MIA and up in the Hall of the Missing.

But, she will be back. I just don't have the energy right now.

On the same basic topic, even though they're still in the City and in play right now, if tags from [info]Wilson and [info]Todd go spotty or slow, please bear with me~? I'm just trying to graduate next month. XD

31 Howls

Feeling a bit more myself these days. Got some stuff worked out and thought through some other things, which helped.

The house is... sort of eerie quiet. Not sure what's going on, but it's weird without Gwen and the baby around.

If anyone's looking for me I'm going to go work on the Bug in the garage for a while.

1st Anomaly

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 7:21 PM
[A skinny young man stumbles into view, wearing nothing but boxers and a scarf, carrying a toothbrush and looking not unlike a kicked puppy.]

...and I promise I'll pick up Abby, I just need to... to...

[He looks around, confused.]

...Abby!? I think there's an anomaly in the flat! ...Abby!

[There's a note of panic entering his voice.] ...Abby?

Ohhhhh, no. No-no-no-no-no-no. Where is... Where am I? Oh, man, Cutter's gonna be pissed I wandered off through a-a-a

[He looks around, realizing for the first time that he's in a zoo of some sort. A very... peculiar zoo.] ...is that a Diplodocus in a cage?

Cool- I mean, bad. Very, very bad. I've got to get back. Abby!

[He looks down at himself and crosses his arms across his chest. Yeah, it's a little nippy out here, and he talks to himself in a small voice.]

...clothes would be good, to.

0116: Stories

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 8:11 PM
Everyone was writing stories yesterday. It was kind of like living in a book. I didn't write anything 'cause I'm not so good with stuff like that.

I'm going to spend tonight out under the moon again. It's been so beautiful out there. Even though it's way past full the big yellow orange color is so wonderful that I don't like being inside when I can be out under it.

If anyone wants to join me I'll be down by the river. There's a big flat rock right in the middle that's just perfect for lying on. And then you're in the middle of the water with the moon over you and the stars and the trees and the animals and, oh, it's just perfect!

Two Hundred and Thirteenth Position

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 9:57 PM
The anonymity was lifted after midnight. ...That was the first time it happened. I suppose a change could be good. I predicted a plot twist.

Revealing curses yesterday as well. Was I right about the theme? Those affected couldn't hide their actions or inner thoughts of the moment. What would be next? Another of those curses we speak out our mind without thinking?

I want to tell my friends I am-

But enough of the City, I want to ask something maybe personal to some: What sort of fairy tales do you like the most? What is your favorite fable?

[004 → accidental video]

[The recording clicks on to show a slightly confused Teito - it's taking him a second to figure out that he's in the City again. It takes a couple of seconds, but he finally realizes where he is.]

I wasn't expecting to be here again. Mikage, stay by me-

[But he doesn't get to really finish because all of a sudden there's a small dragon that looks more like a bunny that is very pink and fuzzy looking right into the camera and nothing else can be seen aside from Mikage. Teito's voice can be heard, but he can't be seen because of the dragon that's just sitting in front of the camera.]

Mikage, don't do anything to that!

[And then Teito notices the device, and the camera gets really shaky before it finally clicks off.]

[ooc; And Teito's back, updated to the end of chapter 53. He has his baby dragon with him now, too. 8)]

CHI AND I ARE GETTING MARRIED.

Okay not really. Or not yet. But I am back. I've been backtagging around a bit, but if I've missed something you want me to hit, please let me know! And I want to know what's been going on, if I've missed something important.

Everyone is off autopilot and Syaoran will be coming back into the City either tomorrow or maybe Tuesday. There will be a post of course.

So yes, [info]Yuuko, [info]Syaoran, and [info]Gwendolen are back and up to old tricks.

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 5:41 PM
I know it's a little late, but I had fun going trick-or-treating. It was nice to meet everyone.
Thanks for letting me see your Magic, Cat. It was really cool.

Dr. Jimmy, when would be a good time to stop by the hospital? I'd like to see where you work. I bought a few books too. Any time is fine though, I don't want to bother you too much.

Wow, I'm not really sure how some people write so much. Some of the stories yesterday were interesting. It was much better then the other two curses this month though. Is there anything that normally happens this month, or was doomtober the only month that the City keeps the same?

Seems people keep leaving too. I wonder if I'll be able to go home soon. It would be nice to see my family. People might miss those that left, but those are getting to go back home, right? I just don't see why that would be sad, but I haven't really been here long anyway.

Well, till next time I guess.

The Curse Brigade arrives!

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
So as of yesterday and today, Lockon, Setsuna, Tieria, and Saji are all going around posting up and handing out these flyers in the Square.

The flyer, IC! )

What does this mean for you OOCly? Well, Celestial Being is essentially creating a support team for helping to deal with curses. If your character is the civic-minded sort, they might want to get involved. Or they can just mock the efforts--it's up to you, of course.

None of this, of course, will put an end to the curses; it's more aimed at giving characters things to do during and about them. In other words, it's just characters doing what they can to establish some order in the chaos of the City, while knowing all the while that there will still be plenty of that chaos. Drop a line here if you have characters who'd be interested--or just go ahead and post about it IC! I know a lot of characters are already doing some of these things individually; we're just trying to open up some more CR and RP opportunities with it.

Yep, this is all mod-approved. And yes, "Curse Brigade" is a terrible name. It was thought up by a man who thought "Lockon Stratos" was a cool codename.

Li Shaoran has left the City.

We're still on for games tonight. Cheer me up.

goodbye, little birdy

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 2:50 PM
So this is awkward! I took a hiatus to reorganize my work schedule and ended up getting... more work. Bottom line is under this schedule, I can't find time for Poly even with only one character, so I'm going to be bowing out for now. It's been a blast playing with you all and if things calm down again (possibly after New Years) then I might be back. But for now...

[The screen flickers on and shows the wall of what looks like a small ally. Painted on the wall is a large, red swastika - though one of its arms isn't as long as the others.

Just below it, there is someone lying on the ground - a woman those who take a closer look could identify as one Willow Rosenberg. Her eyes remain slightly open, but there is no life in them anymore. No wonder, since her chest and stomach look a mess, hardly recognisable for a human's upper body at all. It shines in the brilliant red of fresh, inner blood and if there should be ribs sticking out, for some reason there aren't.

Rip stands beside the nearly finished symbol on the wall with a dipped in red brush in her hands and licks a few spots - just as red - on her lips away. As she speaks, the voice might remind you of the first video. Or does it?]

I'm running out of paint...

[At first she appears to talk to herself, but then she tilts her head to the side, looking at something off-screen. Listening. If you had been Rip in this moment, you would have been able to hear other voices --
If you press on her harder I bet more'll come out~!
Nfu~ And it's such a lovely color either way~
-- but since you aren't, all you can hear is Rip's reply.]

Ohh, it is. What a pity she can't admire it herself.

[Another pause:
It matches her hair

At least the bitch has done us the favor of coordinating herself~
Rip smiles.]

Yes, how considerate of her!

[And the video transmission shuts itself off again.]

[[ooc: I bring you victim#2. Please remember that you can only hear Rip's voice, no one else's.]]

war of the worlds

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 1:19 AM
9-10; War of the Worlds
The armies have assembled! Citizens who have been in wars will find themselves drafted into an army or supplied with soldiers from their own world to do their bidding. Whether that bidding is for better or worse is really up to what lies in the heart of the citizen isn't it? They must decide what they're fighting for and quickly because chances are there's probably someone else who has a takeover on the brain, and there is much to take over. The sea around the City has receded considerably, granting more land upon which battles may occur, and the Deities don't seem to care who'll win. [Deaths that result from this curse are exempt from City!Death. Destruction of parts of the forests, beaches, fields, and the mountain are allowed, however the urban area of the City including main buildings (the twelve apartment complexes, the Hospital, the Academy, etc.) are off limits to fighting. They can be patrolled and small skirmishes can erupt on the streets but homes and buildings will not be destroyed. NPC soldiers are granted as platoons of 30 soldiers per 1 character who has held a leadership position in their canon. When the curse is over, the terrain left by the receding sea will revert to their unharmed forms (because no one likes a blood stained field) and stay as permanent fixtures of the game. Yes, the island is getting bigger. There will be a post in [info]poly_tldr with more information for players to organize cast-related armies and plot battles if they wish!]

As promised, here's a post where players may put troops together, share information on the canon types of soldiers their character has, formulate scheming agendas and what not.

here are guidelines to keep in mind )

——I'm well aware that yelling is not allowed in a library, but look who's being the bloody pot!

[ the reply is muffled, but it's still obvious that the voice is nearing the point of yelling. ]

...Don't just walk away like that! If you could be stop being such a witch and tell- [ his voice abruptly stops, leaving only the buzz of static. ]

[ooc: Aaaaand [info]Yvaine and Tristan have returned home for an update. ♥ They will be back soon enough. ]

Once upon a time there was a family of farmers. A mother, a father and their three sons. One day the parents and the elder brothers fell ill and died, leaving the youngest son alone. The family's town took the boy in, but he heard it repeated often that they couldn't keep him in that time of famine--he even heard it suggested that his family's death was somehow his fault. "Possessed by a fox," it was said because of the color of his hair. So it was no surprise that the boy was quickly sold to a passing slave caravan the moment the chance came up.

Um, has anyone seen Teito around? I haven't heard from him for a while now... I hope he's all right. At least it's now rather than before? ...Ahh, what am I saying!? Maybe I can ask Repede if he can find out?

Really, this week has been rather...tiring, to say the least. I guess yellow isn't my lucky color after all.

[ There's a pause as he looks through the network. ]

...Wow, a lot of people are writing a lot now! I guess I'll have some reading to do then.

As nice as everyone here is, I'd like to be released soon, please. I can rest just as well back in my apartment and there's only so many things to write or do in here.

Sir Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing-called many things by friends and foes alike from Master and Iron Maiden to less flattering like Protestant Swine, and more recently she had become the Countess- sat bathed in the twilight of her office. Her silver blonde tresses cascaded down her hips and a cloud of smoke concealed part of her features. She was as usual, indulging herself in a cigar, dressed with a simple pair of black trousers, a pristine white shirt with a blue cravat tied around its neck. Despite her recent undead nature, she wore a silver cross pin proudly as symbol of the Church she defended. She reclined a little, letting one of the strands of her hair fall over the expensive oak desk, as she read the Network- an activity she did after she fed. The teacup filled medical blood was left unfinished at her left, even if it was enough to serve her nourishment, the anticoagulant left certain unappealing aftertaste in her palate.

This is ridiculous! she thought, features darkened in deep indignation. She had realised since the beginning she was cursed and unable to stop typing what she qualified as ‘bloody rubbish’, however she could not control herself. The good humour she had had lingering from the bonfire of Guy Fawkes’s Night had completely evaporated. With a quiet growl, she attempted to call the shadows to prevent her fingers to continue their incessant typing. However, the darkness once beckoned in became accomplice to the curse; much to the knight’s aggravation, dark digits aided her hands in the current description of the mundane routine of her day life.

In a flash of uncontrolled rage, Integra was about to hurl the device to the ground, ready to shatter it to pieces. What foolishness would I reveal in this state? mused as the the sapphire orb of her good eye glowed with a ruby incandesce. In that same instant, a revealing entry caught her undivided attention. The computer was rescued from damage and, thus, the last of the Hellsings filtered from properly suspicious parties.

[[Filtered from Rip van Winkle and Luke Valentine]]

“The recent murder,” she began, leaving all the frustration and anger buried beneath the surface. She straightened her posture and addressed the Network without much of a glimpse of what had previously transpired. Not a single hair in the wrong place or any trace of emotion behind the gleam of her spectacles. “Who has more information about it?”

(ooc; Willlll try to backdate Integra’s log in the bonfire entry if I have time! Assume she was around, not cursed! /o. Yes, slightly purple).
